Control: White Scars
I, Dalton Lewis, play the White Scars in the tabletop miniature game Warhammer 40k. They are the fast-riding guys who zip around the board with lightning speed. I don’t use a zillion bikes with them, but I do zip around the board — I have two drop pods filled with ten marines each, and I have units to outflank and show up on any board edge. I also have four characters with bikes or jump packs who can quickly close onto any enemy unit.
I don’t win every game, but I give the game my all. I am 2-2 with my white scars army. They include centurion devasators, scouts, and a bunch of characters.
There is a huge argument between the top players and everyone else. My friend Terry thinks that certain players always beat the rest of us, and everyone else is sick of it. The biggest tournaments have the same half a dozen players at the top. I lost by one point to one of the friends of a top player. The top player told him that he would never lose to a playet like me. That hurts.
A few lists kill all of the lists that the rest of us play. When we try the best lists they say that the list is last years and has been solved. I just want to do a rage quit table flip when they say that.
I went to st. louis wanting to win three games out of five. I went with all the best units for the deathwatch faction but no plan to actually use them effectively. I won one game out of five, i think, because i didnt have a coherent plan.
I want everyone who works hard at the hobby to succeed, but that doesnt happen. I just hope that i can play better and do my absolute best.
Thanks, and taje care, friends.
